The Sako Optisup AL suppressor combines the lightness of aluminum with the hardness, resistance to shocks and scratches, friction and sudden temperature rises, without omitting the problems of corrosion due to the humid atmospheres of the early mornings along the ponds is a real technological challenge to which the Cerakote treatment provides a real solution.
Cerakote protects surfaces, improves their reliability by drastically reducing friction while protecting against corrosion. Baking results in the formation of a thermo-hardened coating with a very high resistance to shocks, scratches and friction which gives this sound moderator the hardness of steel and the lightness of aluminium.
This is the principle of powder coating consisting of the electrostatic projection of a colored powder of synthetic material, often Epoxy or Polyester, followed by a passage in the oven at high temperature causing the polymerization of the coating. The SAKO OPTISUP AL sound moderator is compatible with maximum .308 Win calibers and its connection thread is standard 5/8” X 24.
The sound reduction obtained is of the order of 17 to 22 Db
